Necromancer
Necromancer
• Major Boss Fight.
• 3 Phase Boss Fight.
Phase One
• The Necromancer begins the fight absorbing purple energy and allows you a few free hits.
• The Necromancer has a poison spew attack that you need to be very careful of. Much like Abominations, this poison spew does a lot of damage and also has some long range. If you're close-ish, you CAN duck the trajectory of this attack but typically you want to be behind the boss during this or way out of the range. This can stack poison. This attack is indicated by the boss grasping its stomach.
• The Necromancer will constantly reposition itself from one side to another via jumping. If you're melee, stick to this boss like glue.
• If you see the spider legs raise up, get behind it or away from it. The boss is about to slam the ground and create a bit of a shockwave in front of it.
• When the boss hands start to glow purple, 3 orbs are about to come out of the ground. Yes, the puddles will deal damage if you step on them so be careful. These orbs will raise into the air, then wait a few seconds and then track your character. Lead these to a safe spot so you can safely dodge them.
• This boss has a back attack that has an obvious indication. When you see this, dodge through the boss.
• At roughly 50%, the boss will leave the area and baby spiders will spawn. Kill them fast so they don't pile up on you. Eventually the boss will create a landing zone area, showing a green circle. Dodge this and get back to damage.
• Stamina management is very important in boss fights, this one is no different.
Phase Two
• In this phase, the upper torso and "spider" portion split. The upper torso, the "caster" if you will, is going to be hanging in the top middle while the spider portion is down on the floor with you.
• The spider part of the boss is a bit more dangerous here as it has a charge attack that hurts.
• The Necromancer top portion will cast spells at you, notably the purple balls that track you and a new attack, blue hands that track the floor. The blue hands can freeze you if you're hit too much by them and this can lead to a quick death.
• The hardest part of this fight is paying attention to 2 things at once. The spider is leaping towards you and doing most of the moves that it did in Phase 1 while the caster part is doing its own thing up above. Watch them both.
• At roughly 50%, another mini spider phase happens.
Phase Three
• Kill the damn thing.
